A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

RALPH! ! What the heck!! I'm at my sisters in St Louis helping her with Xmas baking. :(
If I had known I would have gladly cancelled! I could have guided you around rough areas. Pointed out the best bbq places & best blues joints. (Although nothing good starts till after 10 p.m.) I could have warned you about Graceland! AND you could have come over for a turkey fix! DANG!

I'm getting ready to head to Memphis. If your heading to St . Louis I'll we will be passing each other on 55! Geez!

I'm starting to feel the need to invest in hip-waders. We have had heavy rain and high winds for weeks now. I have lakes forming in the fields and the yard. Just for fun we had hail this morning with our torrential downpour.

My poor birds - I open the door for them and they look at me like "outside is broken...you should fix it human" The grass is still green, they just have to wade to it. This is their first PNW winter....and we had no rain this summer or fall for them to get used to it. Really tough to get them time out of their fenced runs these days - I miss watching them adventuring around the yard. The chickens are still laying lots of eggs - but that might just be a lack of anything else to do :gig

I sympathize Fiesty! Non stop rain is no fun! Storms are getting ready to blow in here tonight. It's freaky warm. Hope we don't get tornadoes too. I think I'm down to two chickens laying. The rest are finally in molt. And I'm getting turkey eggs. So weird! But they are making up for my free loading slacker chickens!

I'm still impatiently waiting for my first turkey eggs. I have the incubator up and running and managed to join in with the new years hatch along with chicken eggs. Last year once the incubator was on, it ran nonstop until July haha! Welcome hatching season :) (I've got some eggs under a new broody also)

My turkeys were thrilled to be able to get out and free range for a while today. I didn't even have to really chase them home at all. The kids were outside playing so they stuck around.

I am in St Loooooooie!

I waved at every car and truck SB on 55 today. SO I hope you liked my wave Memphis.

We did the polar express show tonight. Another rip off. I think people are making a good living ripping me off. We are staying at the Union Station. Nice rooms but the parking fees!!!!

Tomorrow night is Iowa, I think. then home. I am ready to be home. I shopped like crazy at Bass pro! I hope my family likes Bass Pro as they are all getting stuff from there. It is the perfect one stop shopping place. I was made fun of on the top of the pyramid! I hate heights, unless I am in an aircraft piloted by me. One of the gals working there was making fun of me because I refused to step out on the CLEAR glass floor and look straight down for 28 stories.

I told her I was not afraid of heights and even proved it by showing her my commercial Pilots license, then she laughed even more at me. I got no respect.

BUT shopping was great, I could not find anything for JJ or Ethel though. I did find some red solo cups on a crystal glass base. Like an expensive wine glass. I got a set of them.

Fine dining and drinking is about to become the norm at our house.

All this talk of incubating and egg laying turkeys has me ready to start hatching, but I know it is at least 3 months away. sigh....

Ralph, I can't believe we missed each other! :( Glad you made St. Louis ok. The wind driving in was horrendous! The rain finally just got here. That Pro Bass is pretty cool. I sort of like the swamp running through it. The fish are cool. You still have time before Christmas to get something for JJ & Ethel! They need something special, now that their protégé are on Porters!!

Aurora. ..when those girls start laying, you know they'll be fertile!!! :lau. Thanks to Adam! :D

When we left Memphis the wind was a female dog! I thought I was going to get blown off the road. I was surprised I never realized how close Memphis is to Arkansas!

Arkansas reminded me of North Dakota. VERY VERY flat and nothing there. I can see why you guys get so many bad floods down there. A 5 gallon bucket of water poured on the ground would run 200 miles in every direction!

It was done raining by the time we got here. We arrived here between 4:30 qnd 5.

That is by far the best Bass Pro shop I have been in, and I have been in a lot of them....( better than any Cabela's too)

So...is it warm everywhere? It was in the mid 70's Saturday in St. Louis. Right now in Memphis it's still in the 70's. I'm not complaining, but it sure is weird. I've got daffodils up about 3 inches...
