A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

Since it was warming & sunny I got a chance to chill out in the yard with Annie on my lap, asleep, for an hour! Daisy was in the dust spa. Usually Daisy is such a pest that Annie hops down after about ten minutes. It does amaze me how much turkeys want attention.

Memphis you are correct. This was Mars 10 minutes after we got home from a long weekend in town. Monthly grocery shopping and annual dental appointments for everyone. It was cold and snowy when we got home this evening so I went up got her and 5 minutes after we got to the house she jumped on the bed and pressed herself against me

Overnight, 4 more babies hatched! Up to 10 so far :) there are 3 left in the bator that are pipped and the one that I'm sure quit. The two silkies seem to be taking turns with the pile of poults in there. It's so cute lol.

Yes, Memphis, I will be selling most of them as poults. I will be keeping a couple though. I have to guess which ones are toms to raise up though.

Those silkies are something! How cute is that? Any more blondes? Your having high hatch rates! Turkeys everywhere

I'm thrilled to death with my hatch rates! Last year (they were all shipped eggs) I think I helped every one of my turkeys hatch except 1 who hatched overnight. Then again, I may have just been being impatient. I wasn't prepared with how long poults take to hatch. That, and I didn't want to lose any. I haven't helped a single one of these poults hatch. It's amazing that they can get out of those shells IMO. Just cracking a turkey egg to use is tough!

So far, it looks like at least 1 more very blonde poult. Most of them though look like red bronze babies.
