A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

Wolf-Hen - my two age groups of turkeys didn't have any interest in each other until the babies were over 2 months old. Until then, my older turkey only really socialized with my chickens and us :). When I added a full grown turkey hen later, the interactions and bonds formed much faster because everyone was closer in age. I have limited turkey experience - all of mine are a year or younger.

Ralph and Aurora - Sorry to hear about the limited luck with exchanged eggs :(. Where's the latest baby pics??? I need a fix!

I gave in to Coco and put 4 chicken eggs under her. She is not budging from her broody spot and I'm pretty sure that there was no chance of changing her mind. She is absolutely flattened on top of those eggs and growling at everyone who dares to look in her direction. We'll see if she sticks for the duration, I hope there's at least one or two that hatch. I really didn't need babies this year, but I hate to see such determination go to waste  I may just look at this as an excuse to buy a little "back up" incubator (just in case she quits part way through) LOL.

Well my turkey hen brownie thought that angering the broody hens was a good idea! She got into a fight with my broody hen who is her best friend. Now they puff up if they see each other.Luckily brownie has made friends with my guinea roosters. I guess chicken and turkey friendships dont last.

Ralph-i'd give them a couple extra days to be sure. I really hope you get at least one. Mine tend to hatch a day late so who knows. Maybe the stress of shipping will delay them? That's really gross about the blown egg YUCK!

I've actualy had bad luck myself. I lost both males from your eggs too.no clue why, they just both dropped dead. I still have the one pullet left though. Bodily she's stronger than the others.

MAN THAT IS the low pressure trough pushing against a high pressure ridge. and you are on top of the ridge.

One Adam has a peck.. and one JJ hatched today..weird color though. Hard to tell what it will be, JJ makes lots of weird looking babies!

Good luck with Coco & the chicken eggs Feisty! :D

I'm not telling Daisy & Annie about the trampoline. For obvious reasons!

Making friends with a guinea just shows how dub turkeys really are.....

YAY! all may not be lost yet! Hopefully, more will be pipped by morning. Can't wait to see the wierd color poult.

I'll try to get my weekly pictures of the mottled blacks sometime is been a super busy week. We've been building raised boxes in the garden so that MAYBE we might actualy be able to grow something this year instead of it all roofing away in wet dirt. The girls thought they'd come help us out today.....they treated the quality and consistency of our dirt for us lol.
