A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

Way off the turkey subject.......
BUT I have a little SS rooster that could be Cuddles Jr. I reached in the pan to fee them today and most the chicks run or fly, just scatter. This little guy walked up and looked at me. I reached in and petted him and he stood there looking at me like "oh, this is different"......followed by "I think I like this".
He never did run. I was short on time or I would have taken him out and cuddled him back.

Ha those are the ones that turn on me later

Pebbles gave me a scare tonight. I left a few of the girls out to free range this evening since it was the last nice day that we're supposed to have. It was starting to rain so I went out to gather them up and I couldn't find Pebbles anywhere. I walked ALL over the yard, looking everywhere. I finally found her, emerging from a stick pile in the woods. I guess she decided that it's time for her to start laying so she found herself a nest outside lol. I thought I had lost her.

Aurora...my heart sinks when I can't find one of the girls. One day I looked all over for Daisy. Weirdly I thought I could hear hear her, but couldn't find her. Finally looked up....She was on the garage roof.
Feedman...sounds like your Tom is a good one!

What a relief it is to find one you have thought was lost! :wee

Because it was so nice out today, and I am home sick with a cold, I put my 2 week old chicks outside to play. I sat and watched them and of course the turkeys came over. My favorite Mottled Black always comes close, so I wrapped an arm around her and she sat with me. Then one of the white ones did the same. I particularly like the tom photo bombing this picture. The girls just sat next to me being cuddled until I decided to go back inside.

Took advantage of the nice weather today.

Flagged out a 30 ft area in my field for a buffer strip.. So my fruit trees don't get wiped out by an ag sprayer again.

Put together and roofed a new 10x30 pen. Other than the wind went relatively well. Moved a set os turkeys that were in one of my small pens into it. They didn't like the move but were happy afterwards.

Next week if weather cooperates all chickens will be penned.

After that's done going to till up the pen and plant in clover, grasses.and what I find at the garden store. Hopefully a cheap buffet for them when I let them range again

Does anyone here bread chocolate turkeys with stock from Porter's?

Unfortunately, all the chocolate poults that I got from Porter's died on me long before they had a chance to grow up.

Hope you feel better soon! Love the pics!

Just sold my first 2 turkey saddles on ebay. The person messaged me and told me that they'd been recommended to me for the saddles by someone on the turkey Facebook page they're on....wow!

Congrats on the saddle sails. It' good when social networks work like they are supposed too.

Did the new poults like the brooder better than the h tcher they were wanting out of

AnneInTheBurbs...a turkey hen hug always makes me feel better. Your mottled is a cutie! The tom is pretty funny.
Aurora...cool! Your saddles looked great on their models!
Feedman....mine love rye grass too. I planted wheat along a fence this fall. They ate each little sprout that popped up.
