A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

thanks
1/2" hardware cloth, and since I am paranoid about predators, 2x4 field fencing. The 22 mill tarp is clear(sort of) . The end has 6 mill plastic stapled and tucked under the tarp that I take off for summer...There are several places that sell the tarps and they are all from the same manufacturer when I get them... so I look at price and shipping costs. I use simmilar bungee balls to the end of this link. But I got them from amazon. https://www.canopiesandtarps.com/clear-tarp-10x16.html
I put shade cloth over the tarps for summer
I have 4 of these hoop coops. one is 8x 24' ish and the other three are 8x8 ish

This would work well for the pigs we have. :). Hubby just has a hooch made from a tarp right now. It keeps them nice n dry at night but they like to rattle the edges and pull em up sometimes.

Aurora...its a different life style for my city girls. Always surprises me how social they are.

How is Pirate??

She's still hanging in there. I'm setting no improvement in her we all now. She's making me more nervous each day. Her balance is worse and she's looking more droopy. I'm not sure what else to do for her.

Time to get up close and personal with the gorgeous feathers of Phil and Lil!

This mornin we cleaned out up at the turkey and goat pen and added mulch to try keep runnin Rain water out of one of the stalls from makin it a mucky mess a bit. It is at the slope. Yuck. Then mama came down screamin like a banchee cause dramas of some hateful woman that she thinks i need fix.. but newp not my problem thank you. Now this. Ahhhhh this. This let me relax my one brain cell that i have left for today. :). Plus... watchin baby turks strut their goods, dust bathe and learn more pilot to bombedeer stunts helped as well. :).

Tonight, I kicked the Toms out of the hotel to make room for the others... I carried the
RP tom to pasture and dw carried the br tom... On the way I was petting the RP Tom's head.... When we got to pasture we both released our birds... The RP Tom came back for more head scratches... the BR tom not so much...I'm guessing you can tell who imprinted and who didn't... Got the RP and BR girls back into the convent and the Nari and Black girls into their hotel suites. Going to use my youngest black tom for this mission... He won't integrate. so only time will tell... i may have to cull him to save him a life of misery.

This morning, it was so nice out! When I went out to feed everyone, I let the turkeys out first. Their run is such a goodg muddy mess from all the rain so I let all of them out for a little bit. The girls were happy to Grace and the boys, they were just hanging out. Even the little ones has a blast! Once I let the rest of the flock out they had to go back in. The chickens are good but waterfowl vs turkey is never a good battle. Unfortunately, the turkeys always lose. At least there were a few moments of serenity.

After I came in, I posted pictures of Phil and Lil on Porter's turkey color genetics page. I ended up taking to someone on there who believes that Pebbles is the one with the hidden genes, throwing these penciled poults, probably with Romeo since he's most likely to be hiding penciled genes also. So tonight, when tucking everyone in, I got a closer look and would you believe that the twins both have a multicolored reflective glow on the black parts of their feathers! Phil's is most obvious. I tried to get pictures but my phone battery was low so no flash but I tried. You can kinda see it but it totally pales in comparison to real life. Each one of the pin feathers opening up on his back are glowing at the tips too. I can't wait to see them all feathered out now!
