A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

It is a chukkly 27 with nasty winds and light sleet/freezing rain here..

Nothing new on the turkey front. I went to @holm25 place this weekend, I saw Ethel Jr.... She sure is a nice looking bird, I wonder why I gave her up, I should have kept her.

Mr T was showing off the whole time I visited with min.

Funny how my turkeys have different habits. As soon as it gets light enough, Daisy hops off the roost & spends a good 10 minutes eating breakfast. Annie stays on the roost & prefers brunch. They are so different.

Rather chilly here. But going to get very cold this weekend. And there is a chance of snow. Not much. Hope it holds off till the weekend when I dont have to go anywhere.

Been holding off mentioning this....but my daffodils are out of the ground & forming buds. Nothing more cheerful than a blooming daffodil after a long winter.

:tongue
My Gold Nugget has its first two blooms on it!!

Seriously? Flowers? They're a distant future thing for us here. Everything is under a few inches of white stuff right now and we're looking at this for the weekend... We're around the 29.3" mark :hit

It's about 46° here, and we got our first turkey egg. The bourbon red hen has been squatting for the standard bronze tom, so it's possible it's even fertile. How long should I wait to set any? This is the first time she's laying. About 2 weeks to get the egg-factory in gear?

The blue slate hens are doing nothing yet.

I would gladly trade a bouquet of daffodils for those two Gold Nugget flowers!! They are some of the best tomatoes EVER! I highly recommend them! Mine grow in front of the house. Typically, as I get home from work I pick them & stand there eating them. They hardly ever make it into the house. They are so good by themselves that I can't bare to cook with them.
