But..but...but...if we send bugs and ticks...you and your birds know we are thinking of you....it would make us feel good!!
They have plenty of their own bugs, mice and voles. No foreign bugs are required.
It is awesome to live somewhere that I have never seen a Japanese beetle or any cicadas.But..but...but...if we send bugs and ticks...you and your birds know we are thinking of you....it would make us feel good!!

I think your weather might have something to do with itIt is awesome to live somewhere that I have never seen a Japanese beetle or any cicadas.
It has the mask associated with the black gene which is what slates have. I would guess you have some kind of mutt that has one slate gene (D).He looks to be a slate, but the top of his/her head is very dark.

Calico requires red (r) and Narragansett (n).Not mutt!!! Calico mixture!
It is not possible to have more black than a Blue Slate (BB) or less slate (Dd) and have any slate at all. It wouldn't surprise me if it picked up some gray (cg) and even some Narragansett (n) from a Royal Palm or from your mixed variety Narragansett hen.I think this one has a little more black in it also (or a little less slate) based on the dark head..
