I like the idea of using denim. You could even upcycle (Notice how I used that trendy word, so smooth? I’m hip.

) I made a bunch of bags from DH’s old jeans and use them all the time. Old denim is softer. Maybe you could get away with just serging the edges.

I might try it. I always use denim on the back side of all my saddles. I have used "up-cycled" before but it didn't feel strong enough for the larger size birds. I might be able to get away with it for quail though.

Canvas will hold up much better than denim.
