A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

Really? I suppose it could be, like, swirling around... Our wind is NNW. Of course our wind is heavily influenced by topography so I guess that’s not all that significant.

Holy Smokes! It IS coming from the east... or the south. (I hate southern blizzards... they’re the worst.) https://radar.weather.gov/Conus/index_loop.php
Click on the link. It explains everything. Texas! Texas is sending this our way. Bad Texas! :rant:p

Everyone surviving this weather ok? We had an eventful evening with thunderstorms and 50mph winds. We are still under Tornado Watches and its still blowing like crazy.

Speaking of crazy....anyone else see the Cylcone Bomb in Colorado blow over that semi truck? There was a clip of it on the national news. Yipes!

Haven't gone and checked on the girls yet. Hoping the wind didn't blow their feathers off!!

We are currently under the back edge & rain is slowing down. Wind still scary! Hang on over there Rjohn!!

This coonhound is so funny! Opened the door to let the dogs have a quick morning "constitutional ". The Aussies trotted right out in their business like manner. The coonhound poked his head out the door, turned & ran. Found him in my bed feigning sleep.

My chickens are just fine, snug in their coops since they can't get out with the drifts that are currently in front of the openings. I'll go fix that later.
I still had to go to work even though the truck with our mail is stuck in a ditch, my office in charge still wants scans done. :smack
It's blowing and angry out, but warm, so not terrible I guess.

It is raining moonson style here. The temps are mid to hig 40s, no wind to speak of..

The snow is taking a beating.. pure ice on the ground with a layer of water over it. The ground is still frozen so the rain freezes from the ground upward.. walking is treacherous.

My turkey hens are trying to screw me up. When I set eggs on Tuesday I used all my eggs. I have a person wanting a dozen turkey eggs on Saturday. I have been getting 6 or more a day. Yesterday I got 3..

They are going to withhold eggs so I miss the number I need, I know it..

Hopefully it is just a one day thing. I moved. Chickens around to new pens and changed roosters Tuesday. It caused major uproars in the barn. They protest loudly at any changes.. I hope they are over them and I get 8-9 eggs today.

Well, I found the snow. It’s all piled up in front of each and every entrance to my poultry yard. Well, it was. I shoveled it out and it looks like I’ll get to do it again. :gigThis picture totally fails to do it justice. Notice the handles of the wheelbarrow. It was sitting on a foot & a half of snow already, poor thing. The orange things are flagging tape, blowing hard.

I didn’t see the cows so I got all bundled up to go looking for them. They were in the barn, laying down. Obviously I inspired them, because after I gave them treats they came out and started climbing in the feeder. :rant

I’m not gonna worry about it. Seriously. The poor Weather Channel guy in Rapid City, trying to make it look like they got a lot of snow. :lau He should come here... only he couldn’t do it if he wanted to. It doesn’t show well on camera, I gotta admit. It’s much more impressive in person. I-90 is closed, so I’m sure they’re not as good as they look in the pictures.

Anyway our power didn’t go out yet:celebrate :fl More surprising, we still have internet and satellite TV. I didn’t actually give the chickens any food since I left it in the coop last night and they hadn’t finished it and I was worried about the cows. Soooo I gotta do that. No big rush, though. The wind is still blowing hard and harder, then hard again. I am a happy girl. Not a major blizzard for us, even if they did give it a name.
