A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

If there is such a thing...yesterday was as 'bout as perfect of a day possible! Low 70's & NO humidity! Just gorgeous! The girls were feeling it too. Tried working in the yard with the girls help. They were into everything. What a couple of pests. But so comical! Neighbors out in force. Couldn't go 10 minutes without someone stopping by to talk to the hens. At one time had a pile of little girls sitting in the yard hugging turkeys. Moms standing by sipping wine and me...trying to weed. Neighbors have gotten to the point of nodding in my direction and proceeding to converse with the girls. Sigh...

Ah the life of the celebrity's Butler...

This morning seems very zen. Lil is off the nest, stretching her legs. Princess is contently snuggled on the nest with the babies, feeding them and talking to them. Cynthia decided that she wants to free range today so she's out with the chickens. I opened the chicken coop today and the youngest of them came over for snuggles (3 silkie feathered ameraucanas, a marans pullet, and an orpington). There's no arguing amongst the flock, the sun is shining, and all is right with the world lol

It looks like Sweet Pea is molting but this year, I think she's getting her new feathers BEFORE she goes bald lol

It does sound like Mr. Picky has his standards! Good for him. My only disappointment is that R2elk isn't dealing with 54 poults! I was looking forward to those pictures! However....pics of the mottleds will cheer me up. Especially the blue!!
The poults were all at the hatcher door this morning waiting to be let out. I have a few things to finish up in the brooder. A third Sweetgrass poult hatched overnight.
This is the broody Sweetgrass hen that has taken up residence in the garden.

Storms starting to roll in. Some maybe severe.

Quick update on the late hatching poult. Took him out if cup and he was able to stand on his own. Put him in the brooder, gave hi. A drink. he moved around wobbly but moving. So maybe he will pull thru.
Sad when they are like that. Hope he pulls through

Feedman, good luck with the wobbly poult & the storms!

Noticed Daisy pacing the fence to my yard yesterday evening. Figured it was about time for their walk & she was ready to go. Opened the gate, headed toward the gate to the driveway & Daisy went running ahead of me down the path & dove under my Itea bush. Turned around a few times and layed an egg. Hopped up & headed to the gate for her walk. LOL! Guess laying an egg is not worth missing a walk over!
