so here's the poults and chicks I hatched about 3-4 weeks ago, the tri colored mottled blue is looking very handsome and all three confirmed sweet grass look healthy and great, the tri colored mottled black hides among the black chicks. Some of my own birds are going to be mystery colors, what with the toms being half burbon red and half Royal Palm.

Aww....they look good Bantambird. That's half the fun! The mystery colors!! Always get a kick out of the dark poults with their funny little face color....dark & light.
Neighbor came down to borrow my mower yesterday evening. As she pulled it out of the garage, Daisy saw her & came running. I had to step in & stop her from following the mower & the neighbor. Daisy sure has a thing about that mower! I penned her....was worried she'd go dive bomb my neighbor! That always looks odd....mowing with a big blue bird flying past your head.

Sure! you have the camera? maybe Holm has a good camera. When are the little buggers due to hatch?
I am guessing the 27th..

but I can't be sure of what her first day setting was.

I suppose the best thing to do would have @holm25 come over and candle her eggs so we have a better time on the hatch date.

Four turkeys were all laying eggs in the same nest which also went through the 20°F night without the eggs being sat on. The bearded Blue Slate hen finally went broody and kicked all the other hens out. At some point a skunk got into the nest so I trashed the few eggs remaining and gave her a whole new batch of eggs while she was off of the nest. The skunk kept coming back and she ended up down to one egg. I refreshed her egg supply so that she had eight eggs. I assume the skunk got one more egg because during the few times that I saw her off the nest she was down to seven eggs.

Today is due day for the hatch. She was very alert last night and this morning but was not talking. When I checked on her a little while ago there were 3 Sweetgrass poults visible. When i got back with the camera, there was only one visible. While maneuvering to try to get some pics, she stood up and I was able to see 5 Sweetgrass poults. One of them has the darkest stripe up its back that I have ever seen on a Sweetgrass poult.
