i do have a question about turkey hens, will adult turkey hens fight if another adult female turkey that they have never seen before is introduced into the flock...
just curious as i have heard that they attack unfamiliar turkeys fiercely (i have seen 2 toms that didn't know each other fight, this was my Golden Narragansett Tom that tried to run off a BBW Tom that i rescued) the BBW Tom died on his 2nd birthday, but at my farm he lived a happy life (seperate from my Golden Narragansett Tom)

Yesterday paul and i drove to virginia and picked up this lil beauty and she gifted us the preciouses. :). So excited to be able get this doe! This past spring we had put down one of my does for a contagious goat disease and we were heartbroken for different reasons... we loved her dearly and we were so excited for the milk she would gift us with. Now i can try my hand at makin more cheeses. :).

Yes they will. You need introduce them like you do with chickens. We try to introduce at least two together so they have a friend to bond and comisserate with.

Flashpoint....scary about the rabid fox.
Beautiful doe sfgwife! I love goats.
R2elk...those babies are adorable! Did you give your hen some older ones yet? Once my babies get a bit bigger Daisy can momma them. They are actually in a big wire crate in her pen. They are so small I'm afraid they can squeeze out of her pen. I had to wrap the wire crate with small chicken wire to prevent them getting out.

Mine keep getting out even though they shouldn't fit through the fence anymore. Then yesterday I observed Boyd on top of the fence with a baby 'talking' to them while another was trying to jump up there. There is a dog house they can jump up on, then from there make it to the top of the fence. Mystery solved. They were all on the other side of the fence this morning. Mom, Dad, and babies. :barnie

Of course they can't get back in.

Oh dont let those lil suckers fool you! They can fly.... high! Ours go over our four ft fence like it is nothin til they decide in the pen with their friends is better.
