Finally hatched 4 blue slate babies 2 days ago. Very happy on that.

Starting to get zucchinis and cucumbers from the garden. Should have had beans as well but they got flooded out.
At a sale/swap today hoping for a good day and go home empty handed. Brooder is full and I need some room.

About 40 eggs left in incubator then done for awhile. Except for blue and bourbon eggs. For my own flock.

Based on the River here... (a small tributary that flows into a tributary to the Mississippi) you are in for a rough couple weeks. The river is a good foot above its banks right now.

We have the third wettest year on record and it looks like we are headed to the top. We are double are rainfall for the year and ahead of our annual totals already,,

I did talk to the Turkey guy! He has a BR & RP plus some young Bronze. He got poults in an effort to get a hen ,& thinks they are all boys. He DID want to come over with his boys to meet Daisy. Won't do that! He offered to let one move in with her! He really wants babies. Besides the biosecurity issues...I'm not sure how Daisy would react to that. Especially right now with the poults she mothers. But I did tell him I'd like to come see his birds. Oddly...his bourbon doesn't fly....like Annie didnt fly. His Royal Palm apparently flys all over the place. Turned him on to Porters site. He does love his boys. They are lappers too. It was fun to talk to someone else who values his birds as pets.

Rosabelle with her brood, old enough to let out now but we will have to check often so nobody gets lost or hung up on something
 
i know i'm a bit late in saying Happy Fathers day...
But i did get to tell my Golden Narragansett Tom, and my White Dúccle rooster Happy Fathers Day (since they both are first time fathers, its very special)...

And just before my family got home from visiting a friend (roughly 1/4 of a mile from our house) I saw a pair of Eastern Wild turkey hens with about 12 poults that are 1 month old (both hens were really dark in color, almost as dark as Bronze turkeys)

Wild turkeys are Bronze turkeys.
