A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

I think onions are offensive to turkeys.
They pulled them out and left them lay.

they had fun doing it. I caught them in the act. Turkeys are just weird with their antics.
IDK Ralphie, I had the same problem with my chickens. They'd go right down the row pulling them up and dropping them back on the dirt.

The robins and grackles are in the garden constantly. The only things the robins bother are the worms and strawberries when I used to grow them.
I was blaming wild turkeys until I seen a robin going down the row pulling onions.
I got a roll " for organic use" heavy weight paper for weeds. 4 ft wide, cut to length. I stab it with a trowel push away, drop an onion plant and cover the plant with dirt..the flap of paper sticking up seems to confuse the robins.

look what sweetheart did! I think there are at least 4. Hard to tell with all her feathers. At least she tolerates me looking and talking to them ! :love :woot

How old is she now? Those are the snood and caruncles of a young hen. She also does have a "mohawk". A tom at her age would be bald. A tom's snood, if retracted, would form into a cone. At this time of year, the snood would almost never be retracted. A tom's caruncles at the base of his throat would be very easily noticed.
She's 4 1/2 months now.
Yeah I noticed the "new growth" mohawk feathers on her head the other day. I'm hoping you're right about her being a hen :fl .
I was going to say, “looks hennish to me”.

and add, those are very womanly legs.
:lau:celebrate
Looks like a hen to me Penny's Mama.
I hope so! She's a mess though, still wants to sit in my lap and snuggle!
