A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

Seeing as there is no way I could convince you, I am very sorry for wasting so much of your time. I was merely trying to share my practices to prevent blackhead with others.
My fervent defense of this method was not warranted. I hope this does not change your opinion of me in the future. Adieu.

There's some studies on oregano oil in CX for ecoli, coccidiosis and salmonella... I have been giving it this year. Last 2 years I had coccidiosis in poults. So far I have not had any, the next couple weeks are supposed to be hot and humid. So I will see what happens. I have corid on hand.

Monday was my last day working at Walmart. Technically, I was scheduled for this Friday coming up too but I was going to use up the last of my paid time off. Of course, the big manager decided to just remove me from the schedule to keep me from using it. Oh well, I got away with using some of it lol. My lower managers (there's like a manager hierarchy there lol) got together and made me a cake on my last day. They were so sneaky about finding out what kind of cake and icing I like lol. I'll miss all the people I worked with... just not the job lol.

I start my new job on Monday. I'm super excited! Over the winter when I'm laid off, I will have lots of time to work on my saddles for next year. I think I'm going to need all that time! I've already sold 654 this year and around 50 tutus! It's beyond anything I could've imagined! I just added patriotic saddles to the shop...I may be a bit late for the 4th but they're still cute!

I haven't lost any more birds since my house, Lollipop was taken. We've removed 3 coons and a possum. Very little is showing up on the game cams now so hopefully that's it. my "hen" that was very ill and pulled through has decided to be a young tom.... he will probably be an honored guest at a dinner party later this year.

Hopefully everyone else is doing great!

I currently have 18 new naked neck chicks out of my various hens and Redhead - the redneck naked neck rooster. Out of the 18, 4 are fully down covered - i.e., no "naked neck". This should be interesting. lol (Edited to add: Found this - so I guess I am not far off the mark.

From Cackle Hatchery site - " When breeding and hatching Turken only about 90% come naked necked and 10% come with feathers on their neck. We only ship you the naked neck chicks, however, they will also have offspring if bred pure that will be 10% feather necked. "

A couple were hatched by my white Muscovy duck. Bucky, a little black turken, hatched out two. Both had one fully feathered.
