A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

We got a new lady yesterday. Technically, I hatched her a few months ago but her family had a sudden issue. Sad situation involving a young family and a pfa against the fiancé. But anyway, Molly was the lady's pet. She couldn't take her with her and was afraid the fiancé would hurt her so I went and picked her up. She's in the seperation pen inside the coop but I did let her out for a while with supervision. She was only living with chickens before.

Glad mine aren't as pretty, I would have more trouble harvesting than I do already.

You have some very lovely turkeys! And your DD is lovely as well. Its good you were there to take Molly (back) in. :)

I always thought turkeys were mean.
They can be mean to chickens--especially some of the females can. My males mostly ignore the chickens unless there's food involved. None are aggressive to humans, though I did have some BBW toms who seemed to be edging in that direction. R2 said "walk through them" and that worked right away.

Mine are sweeties. Everyone I've had bonded to me and run up looking for attention. But as most of you know, I spend a LOT of time with them
They will figure it out on their own time. I can now pick up everyone in the flock, sit down & give them neck & wing runs. They close their eyes & tilt their heads back. Thoroughly enjoying it. That's until Daisy shows up & tries to pull their tail feathers out! Boy is she a jealous hussy!
