A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

Wow, those 2 are gorgeous! I'd love to have either of those colors.

Budgie had a VERY rough molt compared to my other turkeys, but shes finally growing those beautiful lilac feathers back in!

Oh my gosh! A turkey named BUDGIE! I love it! 🤣
I totally now have to name my next budgie “Turkey”. My family will roll their eyes.

Just gotta pop in to do some quick promoting!

We'd love it if any of you guys would like to write an article for the 12th BYC Article Writing Contest!

We actually just added a section for raising poultry for meat to the Learning Center, so if someone wanted to write an article about raising turkeys for meat or processing them, that would be awesome :)

Haha! All of my turkeys except 2 are named after other species of birds! It just became kind of a thing.

Griffon (Griffon vulture), Budgie, Sparrow, Wren, Ibis, Ptarmigan, Dove... I at one point had Raven, Pigeon and Finch but sadly they were all picked off by predators when they went broody before they were in a fenced area.

Wishbone has a limp :( I wonder if she tried to jump down from the roost and hurt herself. I'm gonna switch to a ladder style roost in her coop.

Check for a breeding injury below her wing and in front of her leg. That can cause a limp too.
