A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

Guest of honor tomorrow or otherwise?
A little of both.

He had an attitude problem when he left here. About a year and a half ago. He would attack people if they weren’t watching.

Holm and his Grandpa thought they could change his negative behavior. I had spent months on him with no luck.

Holm said Junior just kept getting worse instead of better, he was actually hitting people on the back and the chest instead of just the legs.

So they cured his negative behavior and he is in the fridge at this time awaiting dinner tomorrow..

It would not have taken me a year to cure his problems.

When you all get bored this winter, you can make blankets out of turkey feathers.

Happy turkey day...

The following is dedicated to Memphis or in memory of.

It was overcast here yesterday afternoon but warm by Minnesota standards.

I had been building a new deer stand, almost in my yard, but I stopped around 3::30 because I didn’t want to upset the young buck that comes around 4:30 to check his scrape.

I put my tools away and thought I would lock up the birds, if they were in the barn. They were, I thought. I locked the turn and turn to walk to house and heard a “ga ka type” turkey talk, the one the hens make when they aren’t happy about something.

My weird colored mottled layered brown, grey bronze hens was in the corner of the fence and the toad pen. She was letting me know she was outside and did not want to be let out. It’s weird she was there as she is a rafter turkey and is seldom on the ground.

I opened the door and apologized to her and stepped back. She ran to the door, with her tail fanned out held low and changed to her “you’re such an a$$” sound. I apologized again, but I don’t think she accepted it.

When she got inside she changed her vocals to “feel sorry for me” and “ you can’t believe what happened to me”.

A bunch of other turkeys ran to her to comfort her. There was all kinds of turkey noises. I am betting I was discussed and all my misdeeds were dug up.

When it happened I thought this is the kind of story Memphis would love. I wasn’t going to write it, but this morning I thought what the heck and here it is.

As an afterthought I decided to dedicate this turkey tail to her.
