A Couple of my Africans

I rarely sell goslings, and never eggs. With the way these birds cost, I do not want to see someone take a gamble with eggs from them, I want to be able to guarantee success.
And the reason I rarely sell goslings is because I don't know what you are getting, and you don't know what you are getting. You could get "one of those birds" that is unbeatable, and will be the goose of it's time, or you could get something that wouldn't stand a chance at even placing in nationals. I prefer to grow all the geese I hatch out, and price them based on quality.

If want to get gosling id buy several to grow out and breed the birds that turn out good for ya. It can be an odds game breeding and raising show birds. The more good birds you have the better chance you have of raising a great one than will dominate shows.

ok well I already have ducks, geese and chickens but I have never showed birds but the 25-26 this month I am showing birds so maybe then I can talk to some people and get something arranged

Sounds great, let us know how it goes. What state are you in? There are a few local level shows that may have ok Africans, but the nationals are where you buy winners.

ok I am in Oregon. Right now I am freaking out cause I went on craigslist an found someone 6 miles from my house that has a one year old buff African gander ( I have never seen buff africans for sale any where on craigslist) for sale for $25 and he is huge I asked her if it was ok to take that picture and post it here to see what you guys think and she said she is very curious to hear what everyone thinks

I will try to get the two pictures up soon

Thies are the two African ganders she bought them from efowl.com. I get to chose one of the two, What do you all think which one should I are they worth $25

Wow, Those are actually pretty nice Buff Africans from Efowl! How old are they? Ususally they dont get orange on their knob until they are older. I also raise Africans, Buffs and Browns. Below is one of my 11 month old Ganders. Good Africans are few and far between.

The one on the right in pic1 will develop a better dewlap, but the one on the left seems larger... Let me think about it.
And they are not shwo stoppers, but a great start in the breed. Better than most "Africans".
