Lone - how wonderful of you to build her a frame. My husband just doesn't have the time right now so I work with a hoop.

chickie - get busy!

Cyn - people always want to buy quilts for pennies and have no clue the amount of work it takes to make them.

Luna - fall and winter are perfect for quilting. Once you get the top together and get the layers sandwiched the warmth of the quilt on your lap in the evening is really cozy and nice.

ncf - no excuses - get busy

Thank you everyone for the compliments. Now that this one is finished I can work on the quilt blocks from the BYC swap. Woot! Chicken quilt!

You are so right! My great Aunt Mae who lives in GA told me the same thing about a month ago when I talked to her and told her I was quilting by hand the way I always seen her and my Granny (her mom) do. I love it and hopefully I will get to do it for a while.
Those so called handmade quilts you get for a cheap amount of $$$ sometimes don't even make it in the wash before they tear up.
oops I forgot to say I LOVE YOUR QUILT MP IT IS BEAUTIFUL AND COMFORTING TO JUST LOOK AT

MissPrissy, that is just beautiful. I hope you're really proud of your work and your hubby appreciates how much work (and love) went into the making. Wish I had the patience to do quilting. I'm trying, but I get distracted pretty easily. Thankfully my mom does beautiful work - all hand quilted. She's currently working on a king sized quilt for my son; she's planning on giving it to him for Christmas. I know what you mean about people not realizing the amount of work that goes into them - she already has over 500 hours just in quilting into his quilt. That doesn't count the time cutting the fabric and piecing it together! What grandmas will do for their grandbabies (okay, he's 17, so not so much a baby anymore!)

Nice quilt I love the colors. Looks antique. I love quilts like that. I just recently took up quilting. I didnt think it would be as much work....its well worth it though when you get a finished project.

Oh Miss Prissy your quilt is so lovely!!!!

My goal sometime before I leave this earth is to make a quilt. I have some that my grandma made.

I hope you ladies display your finished products from your quilt swap.

For now I am working on my crocheting, but after I finish some started projects maybe I'll find some time to learn how to quilt.
