Basically I already have chickens (lowland browns hybrid) and I really love them and all, they're friendly and just all round amazing chickens but this is just to get some ideas if what I might have in the future.

I would like a Very friendly chicken that doesn't mind being picked up, placid and docile, likes people, is okay with being in a 3 meter x 1.5 meter run most of the day but in a big garden at least 3 hours a day and just a really great chicken to be around

These are guidelines of what I would like, I hope some people can give me some feedback!

Oh also it needs to be kinda hardy as I live in the U.K and I would keep them in a flock of about 3-4 and egg laying isn't that important but would be nice

Thanks will look into them, they look cute but are they hardy enough for up to -5 at winter and lots of rain?

Like the ones above said.....Cochin and Buff Orpingtons. I have both and they are super friendly, love to interact with people (especially if it involves treat) AND they keep me stocked up on eggs!!

I also wanted to say that this winter alone we have gotten down to -22 without wind chill, and had no problems whatsoever. I dont heat the coop.
