A home of our own! *We're moved in!* New pics! (post # 148)

Ask them, the worst they could say is NO!

But the best they could say is sure go ahead that sounds cool!

Holy Cow! I just saw this thread today. Gorgeous home! That house is FULL of love. I hear the children laughing down the hall from their bedrooms. The patting of the feet on the wood floors. Can't you smell the cookies in the oven?

Congratulations to you!!

Well, we got good news! We got a call on Wednesday afternoon and the house appraised for $148,000 (which is still well over what we're paying for it)! So, our realtor is getting the ball rolling for the closing next week! I don't know how long it will take to close, but at least it's finally in sight!

65browneyes... I'm right with ya! When we looked at the house those were the kinds of thoughts going through my mind, too!

This has been dragging on for months, but it is SO EXCITING to finally be close to it actually being OURS! I can't wait to get keys to it - it's been months since I was last inside!

Congrats on finding a home...

You have made me chuckle, though... You have 42 acres and you're worried about neighbors? C'mon, it could be a LOT worse. (You could be living in a townhouse like me, with NO yard, and neighbors on the other side of the wall...

Beth,

Congrats to you and your Hubby. I am sure that you will have many years of wonderfulness in your new home. May it be a place filled with love and happiness for you and yours, with the sounds of many children and much laughter.

Let us know when the housewarming is! We'll have to do it up in true BYC style! It's beautiful!

Thanks! You folks are all so sweet! A housewarming party - are you all going to virtually "help" me paint, too?

The Chicken Lady - I understand why it would seem odd to you, but you have to understand where I'm coming from, though! I grew up with very few neighbors and now I'm going to be bordering a small town with about 20 people having property adjacent to ours (I grew up with 4 adjacent landowners to my parents' farm... DH grew up with mostly farmed land around him with no houses nearby). I mean, we both grew up where you could strip down out back if you were all muddy or covered in manure and no one would see you! It's just a big change for us. More so for DH - At least I lived in an apartment in Columbus during college, so I've dealt with having people everywhere and no yard at all! I hope you don't think I'm complaining - I don't mean to sound that way - it's just going to be an adjustment.

I'm a little excited!!! The seller is supposed to be back in Ohio next week, and she said she'll give us the key! Yay! That gives me a chance to get in there and measure and make some decisions ahead of time!!!
