Flame flattened her ear's against her head, and glanced at Cave, And picked up Birch by the scruff."She is my sister, And if she die's I don't want to be worrying, second guessing myself, Wondering if I should come back."She mumlbled over the white shedog's scruff.

Cave sighed. Much to her dismay, she empathized with Flame. For a heartbeat another though crossed through her mind.
Had her mother felt the same way when she abandoned her and her sister?
Remembering this ignited a spark of determination in her, and she grabbed Birch's scruff and pulled her up the hill alongside Flame.
