Sadly, It looks like a possible blood ring forming. It was going strong as of last night- But I'll leave it in the incubator for a few more days just to see.

I have read somewhere, that there is a method of doing this where the embryo is able to fully form.

Little background... as part of my major, I've studied embryology... in classes we just incubated a bunch of eggs and cracked a few open every day to track development. We killed lots of babies for the sake of science, which is rather unpalatable. Anyhow, there have been many attempts to do exactly what you are doing, so as to avoid cracking the eggs open during various stages of development. I believe there was a Japanese experiment done where embryos were successfully incubated in cups.

What I do know, is that the shell needs to be able to breathe and exchange air, I imagine with plastic over the air cell that could be problematic. Same applies to Vaseline, unfortunately.

Be interesting to explore how this eggsperiment could be more successful though.

I have had luck with it! I tried candle wax one time, but before the egg could hatch it simply disappeared without a trace. The second time I had a crack I used clear nail polish because it was a bigger crack, and it worked fine.
