First night a success! I walked into my office this morning and they were all staring at me, then they started peeping and hopping up and down,, which I took to mean "feed me human!". So I did and they scared down everything I gave them.

I'd just leave food for them all the time at that age. They grow better if they can free-feed. You're doing fine! Talk about being thrown in the pool to learn to swim!
I'm swimming, I'm swimming!! LOL! I put them in the bathtub to clean out the containers they are in and my youngest cat laid in there with them, he's adopted the little gold naked one. It's so much smaller than the others it's the only one I worry about right now. It snuggled with him and after they went back in the baby pen he sat there with his face against the glass until I kicked him him to close the door.
I'm sorry to hear of your loss and glad that the chicks are helping out. When I was growing up we got a puppy and right after that our older dog died. It was like he was waiting for the right time and knew the new puppy would help distract us.

THank you very much Lori, the babies arriving the same time really did offset it for us. My son wanted to name one of the babies after JoJo but none are fluffy and white! Hopefully soon we'll have another Pyr or very large breed pup to keep her son Mozart company.
