Abandoned egg in a bucket....

I'm also starting to get some odor off this little guy. Its not completely overwhelming and foul, but its not pleasant. Hopefully just old blood and mucous. Gosh, this is stressful. Its like having a newborn again, up through the night to check on it. I haven't had a good nights sleep all week.

Ok, I'm able to see the inside surface of the remaining egg reasonably well, and the veining has gone down significantly since this morning. I still see two larger veins so am holding off with any further shell removal. Also, I just saw a big opening of the beak so maybe still yolk there...? Quite a bit of squirming from this little guy.

I wonder if my duck randomly laid an egg a week into setting on her nest. I was under the impressions that they stopped laying once they set, but this little one is a full week behind its nest-mates. Picture of one said nest-mate just because....

Did any other hens have access to the nest?

These 4 ducklings (momma in the middle) hatched within 24 hours of each other, but the size difference is amazing! They are almost 3 weeks old.
I also had 2 incubator hatches a week apart. I put them all together and they did fine. I would think this one should be able to join the others after a couple days, or once it’s moving around really well on its own.

Guys, I'm feeling very nervous, I'm a bit shaky, haha. I don't see any veins anymore and I've made the hole slightly larger but I'm scared to go farther. :fl I can even see a spot on the opposite side of the egg where the membrane has broken through....
