Hello from Canada. In June 2021, I got chickens. Right now, I have 3 beautiful Chickens named Francine (French Marans), Plumette (Lavender Orpington) and Bertha (Black Orpington). My favourite aspect about raising backyard chickens would have to be the bond I have with my hens. Eating their fresh eggs brings me happiness knowing I am not contributing to the cruel industries. My other hobbies include volleyball, reading and cooking. I enjoy and love spending time with my immediate and extended family and I have 2 Malshi dogs (sisters) named Nelly and Rosie. I found BYC when I was researching chickens and waterfowl at the beginning pandemic hoping to raise some in the backyard. Several months after getting my chickens, I decided to join BYC because of the great community, questions and knowledge I can learn. I also look forward to helping new/other chicken owners and sharing the knowledge I have about owning chickens.
