The thing is, it's not very detailed. I know for a fact I have a thick accent for my home-born state, because for one thing my T's are either silent or sound like a D.
You have a Northern accent. That could either be the Chicago/Detroit/Cleveland/Buffalo accent (easily recognizable) or the Western New England accent that news networks go for. "
Totally weird. I have spent most of my life, and childhood, in Florida
My mom is from Aus and sounded Aussie especially when I was a kid, and I know I picked up some things from her, as so many people have commented on it... they guess I've spent time in England or Aus.
As a kid I spent all of a month in Aus... As a teen I spent a year in Ohio, a year in Idaho, 4 months is Maine, 3 months in Colorado, and 2 -3 months is North Carolina. Oh and I was born in Kentucky.
This test doesen't confirm any of those places but Maine
I got Neutral. I wasn't surprised, but I pick up most accents as soon as I start hearing them. Like the moment I talk to the Border crossing guard, I will pick up a Canadian accent.
My in Law's still sound English here, but Yank there.
