Yes, the large one with what feels like air in it. Be sure to sterilize it and wipe down the site of injection before and after with alcohol. Try to only make one insertion, not several, to reduce introducing bacteria into it.

Yes, an insulin syringe would be about right. Yes, the air often does escape after the sac is punctured.

It was just air when I stuck her with the insulin needle and pulled the plunger . There wasn't any fluid. The guage on the needle was too small to remove any significant air volume. I didn't want to keep sticking her the syringe was tiny.

The original lump is decreasing but the air sac is increasing.

Keep watch. If she becomes lethargic and loses her appetite, then I suggest starting her on an oral antibiotic.

I will! She feels worse today. Very lethargic should I give her an Epsom salt bath?

Can you tell if she's got bruising anywhere else?

If she's very lethargic, then no, I would not give her a soak or bath, this may send her over the edge.

There's a couple of little ones near her crop. I've been trying to keep her hydrated, she's perkier today. But doesn't have much strength to stand, good news is her lump is almost gone.

She still fights me when I force feed her,. I'm guessing that's a good sign.

Will she eat or drink on her own?

She's very weak. She drank on her own yesterday, I still had to force feed her.

She had much better poops last night. One looked almost normal, her crop feels better today too.

I had to deflate the air sac again last night.
