Adopted a Silkie, how long until she lays?

None of my silkies began laying until after week 30. I have one that is just shy of 32 weeks and she has not even began to squat yet

4 or 5 months is too early IMO.

OMGosh, she just laid an egg ROFL.  see?  just make a post on BYC and the egg comes.  what a funny timing!

My kids just went to bring her outside and they were all, "look what pompette just did!!!!"

 and brought me the egg <3 <3 <3  sweet chickie girl!

She said she hatched them out around January.

OMGosh, she just laid an egg ROFL.

If she laid an egg today, she didn't hatch this past January. That would make her only 3 months old which is way too young to lay an egg. My guess is that either the woman was mistaken about her hatch date or she meant January 2011.

she said last summers hatch. so that sounds about right.
