Is it normal for chickens to sleep with their heads tucked in?
Are they cold?
See this picture of one of our chickens (the left most chicken) sleeping with her head tucked in.
Some details about our flock:
* We have 11 adult birds aged 6 - 10 months old
* All 11 hens are laying
* We live in northern california. The temperature tonight will drop to a low of 40 F.
* The coop is open on one side, meaning air can come in. However, the perch is fully protected from any rain.
Thanks!
