Nowadays there are some laying hybrids that lay over 365 eggs a year. Not healthy but there really are hens who do.So ya know, it takes over 24 hours for the entire egg makin' process. So if you're getting 4 a day from 5 hens... she's laying; they're all laying.
But most hens from older breeds lay only 60 - 220 eggs a year. Many stop laying for about 2-4 months in winter.
Depending on the breed and individual hen there are big differences in egg production.
And there are more factors involved like the place you live , the age, the health and quality of the feed .
There is not a general number of hours that fits all.
