I’m putting HC along the perimeter and the chicks are right here to “help” :love They’re even pecking at the spinning drill through the fence because they like the sawdust flying out. These chicks have NO fear of power tools and power noises!

How about this sweet little thing that likes to cuddle for naps? The comb and wattles are much smaller than on the obvious boys, but not quite as small as on the pullet I posted earlier...

I gave one of the heater plates taller legs. It was an instant success!

It was chilly and very windy today, so they got blown around quite a bit and enjoyed the heater after I put them back inside. After I saw how much they liked it, I gave the second heater taller legs, too, so all the chicks could fit without spilling out the sides. They haven’t all gone under yet, but they like it.

Ramp update: ALL of them went down the ramp when I opened the pop door and called them out! And they actually walked down instead of flying down from the top. I may not need to double the cleats after all!

I don't blame them , its chilly , windy , and rainy . Good job on the heat plates .
Thanks! I was starting to wonder if they might be too old for heat, given that they're fully feathered now, but they love their caves so much that I decided to modify them and let them have their warmth a little longer. It's almost June and it gets unbearably hot here in the summer, so this won't last long anyway.
