Krypto, 43 chickens? I have OCD too, LOL. But I only have 21. But I love each and every one. In the morning, I buzz thru the house, grab coffee, and go sit with the girls, LOL
I have horses too. I got chickens last year, and I don't think I've ridden since then, so the horses are currently lawn ornaments.
Not only the chickens, but I am always building this, and improving that with the coop and pen. Now I want to dismantle my small coop and re-design it. Always something, LOL.
I personally thing your BF is wanting some attention. I don't think it's really the money.

Oh, she loves the little turds, a few are in the barn now and I gave away a few. Still have 20 and I still am thinking on where they will go after the nursery.

I only got about 4 from the bator. They were all eggs from the hens laying and a few broodies took them in.

The wife has laid claim to about 10 of em.

You are going to love this. They are bee keeper slats, some are metal some are wood and some are plastic. Got them from the local feed store in town. I love em, they work great.
