oh i dont think they will make it i have food in there for them but right now they are all close to each other and i hear one or two of them cheeping every now and then they are runts though im trying to get the bator ready for monday i cleaned it out and i only put water in the big middle moisture ring trying to get it to 70% the humidity usually stays at 50% in my bators so if i can get it up to 70% thats a 20% increase in humidity i have 44 baby chicks out in the brooders and have 25 BO hens and 3 BO roos coming July 12-14 so that will bump it to 69 chicks so i will incubate two more times and if i hatch out 15 or more both times i can get 100 chicks but i dont know how many are roosters i have yet

Have you tapped the food to get them interested? Sorry, looks like you know what you're doing. Just so want the little guys to have a chance! and 70% sounds good

I think that's what I'll shoot for.

lol no i have never done that there was no need i think they smell it and then they see one eatting and then they all flock to it its nice to hatch out our own baby chicks cause my mom knows where they came from and what the parents were fed and what kind of living conditions they were in and all next month im hoping to sell some baby chicks around my area i need to start making my own money from this so i can help pay my mom for the feed they eat

How old are the chicks? If they're only 1-2 days old I wouldn't expect them to eat. Even 3-4 day olds will sleep more than eat.

As far as humidity goes I've had my best hatches at 55-65%, with no water added day 1-18 (dry hatch).

yeah i have to put water in my bators if i dont the humidity will drop to 20% and they are going on day 2 but they were still in the shells after day 21 so i busted them out on day 23 and 24 cause it looked like they were having issues getting out

Humidity from day 1-18 in my incubator will run 20-30% depending on weather conditions. On day 18-19 I add water so humidity gets bumped up to 60% or so.

Ah, I understand now. If you had to help them out under these conditions then unfortunately it's a 50/50 chance of survival. I would guess your incubator is running on the low side.

Just found out from my mom that the temp dipped one morning to 92* (how did I miss that?!) so now I'm really nervous.... You don't think I would lose any from that temp do you?
