For you guys!! That's awesome! I hope it was BIG ONE!!

Now we're working on the same thing... Phil keeps looking around his area and I KNOW there are moose in my dang yard, there's tracks!

Thank you all for the welcome!

Ban Seabhag, congrats on the moose!! My partner and I have always wanted to go moose hunting; but if we actually did get one, then what next... It can't be that much different to clean than a turkey, can it?

I don't think it will be too different, but you might notice a difference in the size of drumsticks you get.

Great news on the moose Donna!
That's always a nice load off the grocery bill.

Bonnie, I was just wondering if that was your only polish because I read if you have a singular oddball, (polish, silkie, etc.) the're more likely to get picked on. Same goes for introducing chickens to the flock that haven't been around those breeds before, they'll pick at them.

I have two, but they are different colors. One is a White Crested Black and the other is just a copper color all over including his crest. Both are males.... so not sure. Still haven't quite figured out who it is.

Stopped by the swap meet today... didn't see anyone I recognized tho and was able to refrain from buying chickens because it was our first stop...

Turkey times lets see.....100? More? They are big heavy and delicious.... VERY nice drumsticks as BB says, and about 1 1/2 -2 hrs to cut him up (IF you have some experience)...Then you have to pack him somewhere -THEN you cut and wrap. This is not easy to do, but Kiche, Kaasan and I cut and wrapped a whole moose in 9 hours.... Karl got home and it was DONE

I don't believe we'll be doing that again.....
Karl is a guide, and one moose hunter a year is all he takes (besides other species) , but they usually leave the meat with us. That means we don't have to go this year ourselves.

Never MADE it to the swap meet as I was transporting people and insulating the coop! Just as well
