Yummers!
Say, dh was actually a bit unsure as to how to skin a chicken for taxidermy.
The way their feathers are placed, a belly cut would be very noticable when it was stitched.
As to dispatching, you would likely have to just wring its neck, so as to preserve the skin.
Might have to use the mightly google to see if anyone else has tried this route for practice.
ETA: I am off to snuggle in bed with a book. Dh is out at the bear station right now. As soon as we see good activity, I will be spending my evenings out there as well. Tis the season for stocking the freezer again!
So I've got a little more messing with my incubator to do tonight. My fan isn't placed straight so it's keeping one half warmer than the other. I'm sure glad eggs can handle a slightly lower temp for a little while before they start incubation. It'll be fixed tonight so it should work out great after that. My duck eggs are sitting great, temp for them is perfect and humidity, well it's not going below 45% or above 60% so I think I'm alright. Lol. I'll try to post pics when I get home. Good luck everybody! Love hearing about baby stories. Hopefully I'll have one of my own in 3 weeks!

Hmm... might have to ask a few taxis how they want it done! That's IF anyone is interested. If not, I'll sell em fer feathers!
errmmmm, we have bees. Sort of.
Earlier today, we noticed quite a few honey bees on our property.
I set out a bit of sugar water to see what would happen, and lots more did show up.
Now, I guess we better ask around the neighborhood, to see who just set up hives.
If we do not find one, well, alls fair in love and war
Either way, I am thankful we will have good pollinators for our garden this year.
