My screen name is Scottish Gaelic and it means, I hesitate to say, lady hawk or female hawk depending on how you use it (pronounced banshevek)....... I know - I know...What kind of chicken herder has a name like that? It predates my chicken days ....

I'd send you eggs if I had them... still too early for good hatches, and just a tad too chilly to ship. I'm hoping that this is the start of breakup for us, though. It sure feels like it!!

It's been pretty nice here for the last few days and getting warmer.....
Everyone here was so heartbroken..We had them inside with us and they were part of the outfit....and so much fun. I will try again, and I have a few lavender bantam araucanas in the incubator now, but not the Marans or Wyandottes....The little wyandottes were so gorgeous. Sweeties too..Sigh....

setup the autoturner in the still air incubator, and added 27 eggs this morning.
Temp returning to 101.5 slowly.

Yes I did! There's some hope there, and like a friend told me..".Hey now you can hatch some more, you know you'd miss it!" The fellow I got my BCM's from is planning to send me replacements so with any luck I might have more chicks in March. This is the hard part of having any pet. One doesn't get used to it.
Caven is the English spelling I take it? It sounds like the word for snow drift or blown snow? Scots Gael uses a bh written for a "V" so it gets confusing when you hear it! My friend calls me "sea hag" which isn't even close but funny anyway
