Albino Coturnix

[Chronic Incubator]

Hello all! I just wanted to post about my hatch from yesterday. These were shipped eggs from "blue" coturnix and it looks like I got 1 blue and white, 1 Tibetan, and an albino. Are Albino coturnix really as rare as I'm researching? Thanks for the input!

Yes from what I have seen they are VERY VERY VERY rare. I would also think if they are anything like other animals like dogs, you're going to want to avoid bright lights as their eyes are more sensitive. We use a black light for our incubator, but not sure how well it would work in a broader?

You can get a ceramic heat emitter. It gives off no light only heat.

I tried that in my browser. It was nowhere near warm enough, but I guess it depends on the size maybe?

What color are its eyes? If they are normal dark like the rest of the chicks, its not an albino its just going to have white feathers. Has to have red eyes to be an albino, and they are pretty rare like previous poster said.

A red light is what we use as well, good to know it's not too bright. You have a rare baby on your hands. I'd love to see pics if and when you can take some. Just don't do like me and forget your flash is on
