Wow, great discussion! There's a LOT going on in this thread... and it seems not everything is directly related / the same issue, no?

If I'm understanding correctly, the main issue is around what happens after your post is submitted, right?

@Nifty-Chicken , I would of responded to this IF I had received an alert you had posted. lol When I first joined BYC we had to go to the top of the page and refresh to see if anyone had posted. Then you/the powers that be, fixed it to where new posts were added automatically. What a huge improvement ! Now we have stepped back in time to needing to refresh which slows the thread down a lot WHEN it works . I hear peeps saying it works for them and some say never works , what kind of computer are you using ,ect.. None of that matters IMO . Its the program itself. We had the ability before the move so we know its possible. Would be really nice to have it again.

I don't have any problems at all, getting alerts....infact, it's a little annoying. As Telia said, I also get the pop up at the bottom of my screen. Sometimes their coming in so fast, it's a distraction. 7 while drafting this post.

Have you seen how to turn them off?
