Yesterday I had a missing hen when I went to lock everyone up early after a big storm came through… it was Bitsy… I always do a head count and couldn’t find her anywhere I could only assume that possibly a hawk got her but that is unlikely due to how their yard is… BUT not impossible! So I was about to lock up and I had turned on my headlamp to check all corners of the coop and when I closed the door I spotted her! She was right next to the coop under some bushes sitting on five eggs! A first for me as my gals have always laid in the nest boxes! So happy ending for me but not for her… she was mad that she was locked in and couldn’t get back to the nest

I think I am going to do a “SPOTLIGHT” on each of my gals.. starting with the oldest to the youngest…. And then continue it as updates on each one… maybe once a year or every 6 months or something…
