Explain please
The lady I bought from told me BB reds… I googled them and they look just like this… does the H stand for Hen?

I had in the past Silver Duckwings, and Golden Duckwings. BTW,,, has nothing to do with ducks.
If you look up any variety of chickens,, you will get different variations of any particular breed. So just because they are called a certain name,, they may look slightly different. Show quality,, to SOP is something I don't follow, or care to. I just like my pet chickens equally, to those that are show quality.
So I did look up,, BBReds, and they are very similar to Golden Duckwings.
The ones that I got,,,(remember that I only get mature pullets, because roosters are prohibited) Seller told me they were Golden Duckwings.
Mine looked sooooo similar to your hen pictured. So I assumed They were same breed.
I'm not an expert on these specific breeds. I'm sure my chickens have genes from who knows where.. Like "Whos, ur daddy"

OEGH, yes, The H stands for hen. As I commonly heard at chicken swap meets in the past.
OEGB, The B stands for Bantam.

Yea, I think same breed but different color variations… I bought these at a swap and they were started pullets… and I was told BBReds… I will look up golden duckwing

These chickens do fall under same breed,(OEGB) but different variations. Sorry for not being more clear about that.
Just like so many other breeds. I can name many different ones. Orpingtons, Australorps, Leghorns, ALL have different varieties.
Like I stated in my post above. I'm not an expert on chicken breeds, Just going by what I have owned in my 25,, years of keeping them.
I'm sure that 99% of them were not near SOP. Since I purchased only low priced hens,, Some from the Butcher Shop, that I took home LIVE,, (to keep, not to process myself)
One of my earliest acquisitions, was an American Game hen from the butcher shop. All black very similar to what I currently have. She was going thru a hard molt. When I showed off my purchase to my DW,,,, She immediately said ,,, Chernobyl.. That was her name from then on.
She regrew her feathers and was a fine looking hen
FYI. Chernobyl was the nuclear disaster in Power plant in 1986.

So, umm, your butcher shop sells live poultry on the side? That’s different!

This is one of the places near me. I also went to 2 others, that are slightly further from me.

They have no problem if you take home live. Same price ether way.

I’m not sad that you can have the animal prepared for eating…. just sad seeing them crammed up
