All the Christian Homeschoolers!

Pics
Hi. Maybe I'm way to late, but I've been home schooled for all but Kindergarten and I wanted your thoughts on this: Yesterday someone dumped four white Leghorn cockerels at the edge of our property. We caught them, they were fairly people friendly, and gave them to the Amish down the road. Am I overreacting in thinking these people should be banned from chicken keeping? These birds would not have lasted a week with all the local wildlife.
Hi, you're not too late, no worries, welcome!
That's so sad to hear. :( Like @Isabella5Storm3 said, the previous owners may have been in a bad situation. Either way, it's never right to just dump animals, I'm glad you were able to re-home them.
Whether or not to ban those folks from owning animals would rest on personal opinion. I don't think it's overreacting to think they should be banned, but I don't think they should be banned just for a minor livestock dumping incident. Y'know, freedoms and all that. If those folks aren't good stewards to God's creation, that's just the way it is. The chickens are lucky you stepped in though. :)
Anyhoos, welcome welcome! Please feel free to tell us about yourself as you see fit! We're happy to have you here. :D

Here's a picture from the last time I awoke to a frosty sleeping bag! It's happened a few times. This was in January when it was coldest, but not snowy. -__- Ohio is annoying like that.

Hows things going everyone?
I have been having a great long weekend.
It all started with a land rover show, the 75th anniversary of land rovers in Australia.
They did trialing, swap meets, and then a grand parade down the main street.
We met up with a couple of lovely people, and went for a two night camping and fire trailing trip.
Back home now, with a cold or something starting to develop, which was a bit of a sad ending.

Why you sleeping in the garden?
Also it really throws me for a loop every time you brits say "garden" because I know you mean the backyard but here in America what's called a "garden" is a place in your yard where you grow vegetables or flowers.

So when you said that I instantly had a mental picture of Speedy sleeping in a watermelon patch. 😂

That sounds like a blast of a weekend! Too bad about the cold, but at least you had fun getting it. :p
Yesterday I spent all my time outside helping my dad, building the lid for the brooder box(finally), and we went out and I got a tarp to rig up for shelter over my hammock. It's great shade for resting in the evening. And now I have my own high quality tarp! Yes, the tarp is the highlight of my week, lol.

It's a lot of fun!
Actually I spent a good chunk of last summer hammock camping with my then-bf(now ex and good friend), he gave me my first hammock and a lot of knowledge I am grateful for. If it weren't for him, I wouldn't be hammocking this week, and I wouldn't know how to stay warm on freezing nights outside. I also wouldn't have the bravery I do now to sleep outside all by myself with the coyotes howling just a mile away. :p
But yeah, it's FUN as heck, I love it so much. I actually feel healthier when I do it, too. Better sleep, earlier mornings, more energy... Usually. Not today, woops.
