Those were most likely white leghorns, who lay early and have huge combs as adults. Wyandottes have smaller rose combs that stay almost completely flat on females until they near POL.I have no idea, but I will tell you that twice I've had white chickens where they're combs looked real red early on and it turned out they were actually girls. One fiught with everybody I could have sworn it was going to be a rooster. several people on here told me it was a hen though and it turned out they were right.
