I like to sort the socks as well as possible, but I don't count them. And odd socks go in a corner of the drawer and each week I sort the old odd ones with the new odd ones to see if I can make a pair. No biggie, I just enjoy detailed work. Must be why I was a good bookkeeper and OM!

A little OT, but sock related - a couple years ago I was sorting through some boxes of stuff I had inherited and found this weird little wood "thingy" with a little wood handle. I posted it on BYC in a "What The Heck Is This?" thread and the correct answerer gets the object. Danged if Opa didn't guess it right away, it was a "sock darning egg". Since Opa is a friend, I packaged the sock egg - along with a half dozen holey socks! (clean ones)

All had a good laugh. About 3 weeks later, I get a package from Opa- I had been asking him to send me snow, but somehow I didn't think that was it. DH was outside so I went over to him and opened the package. Not only did it have a half dozen neatly darned socks...................

It started SNOWING in coastal South Carolina!

And oh yeah..... if ya want it washed, put it in the laundry basket!

I have never once thought about counting my socks.

I'll have to put that on the to-do list.

I have to "match" things. Living room lamps, kitchen plates, glasses.
You break one, I have to buy a whole new set. It's in the rulebook.

Our plates and glasses match...if you break a single glass, there goes
the whole set. (We don't break many...too expensive.) I'm not weird or
anything, it's just the way the rules are.

All towels match..and you have to use the correct wash cloth for the towel.

But I'll have to go count my socks...didn't know we were supposed to do that.

Ok I'm starting to panic a lil imagining all the sock bags, baskets, drawers, and closets out there that need orginized.

Well I come orginize everyones socks and closets if you buy the plane tickets or bus fairs. I don't drive so you gotta find a way to get me there.

I do like to buy things in sets of 20 even groceries. I am starting to think I might just be but hey it is all good would you not enjoy knowing just where to find what you want. All though DH has banned me from his gun safe. I'm not allowed to orginize it.

Nowadays, 'neurotic' means you're doing something I wouldn't do. It's really that -ah- vague. It just doesn't mean much.

That said, I would try to not have to wash one sock, and to try to incorporate looking for the sock into doing something else.

Ummm....I need a shovel to find my closet...or dresser...to start looking for socks. I'm a bit apathetic when it comes to housekeeping...she says with her boots up on the bedspread...

Did you know you can get a package of 10 pairs of socks at Dollar General for $3???? That's cheaper than washing them hehehehehhehehehe

I had a brief obsession this weekend - I was trying to match all the mismatched socks. I managed two pair before I gave up.
