Am I neurotic???????

I can wear at least 14 pairs a week all by myself - a pair to work and a pair for exercise. Then there's the pairs that may get wet while doing chores outside if I don't wear rubber boots. The rest of the time I tend to go barefoot!

DH does each day he wears a pair to work another pair to work outside at home another pair after his shower which hit the floor when he goes to bed and forget putting them back on after they hit the floor footless.

I am guilt of it to thou I work outside and if they get wet or dirty I change them a couple times a day.

I didn't used to be such a clean freak but I noticed nobody ever came to the house on days when it was clean only days when it was dirty and as I started to have babies they could always find something dirty to put in their mouths and so I started to just clean everything and realized how much I liked doing it and how much I liked it being clean and the funny thing is no one ever complains about your house being too clean or whispers to the nieghbors that your house is too clean.

I bought DH 20 pairs of new socks and I was bagging the old ones up for goodwill and he protested that I should not give away his socks.

"??? Why"

He says "I might need them."

me "but you have 20 new pairs"

DH "what if they are all dirty and I need a clean pair"

me "Have you ever run out of sock before"

DH "no"

me "so why are you worried I don't think you have room in your drawer for more."

DH"why did you buy new socks anyway"

me "because you had these for 6 months"

DH"are they worn out"

me "no not completely"

DH "so do they expire after 6 months"

me "i don't guess so but don't you like new socks"

DH "I just don't think the old ones are worn out. they still feel good"

me "I think they smell a little"

DH "They why in the world would you give them to someone else?"

me "Because they are still good, clean socks"

DH "AH ha so why buy new?"

me Sheepishly I say "Because it has been 6 months"

so I have an unusual need to buy sock on Oct 1. That make me mostly sure I am.

Female reasoning versus male reasoning. I buy something only when I absolutely need it, but then again I still have shirts that I had 47 years ago when we got married.

It's not necessarily a male/female thing. I still have shirts that I wore in college. I had a pair of tevas for 10yrs before they finally gave out. I never buy clothes unless I need to. All my clothes can fit in three small drawers. It always amazes me to watch shows about people looking to buy a house and the wife needs a huge walk-in closet just for her shoes...
