Am I REALLY an EE?

EE can look like almost anything! All the term EE says is that they carry the gene for blue or green eggs. EE are mixed breeds. They can have any comb or any color legs and any color feathers. It could very well be EE.

Thank you for the opportunity to talk more about chickens. I can never get enough of them

I would like to point out that I did not say 'that chicken is duckwing'. Simply that I found certain feathers intriguing.

I believe you are under the impression that I believe that chicken to be a male. I do not. and would like to point out that the pattern chart you helpfully posted was for MALE chickens. Female duckwings, whether Game, EE, or otherwise, do not have the male pattern. Rather they have dusty greyish feathering in their primaries.

I may have been unclear about what I meant, because my family and I often refer to those female solid grey/brown feathers in the primaries to be 'duckwing'.

No, I didn't think that you thought that the chicken was male. The reason that the chart was of a Male is because the Duckwing pattern is only on male fowl. Hens are not duckwing in pattern.

I guess that would depend on the variety.

Same, all it needs to be an EE is a mutt chicken with a blue egged ancestor (mind you I adore mutts).
