Ameraucana color question

I know that to be an Ameraucana they need to have certain traits as well as colors. My male came from a group a friend hatched, and I was curious if he's considered a red-black (poorly selected?) or would fall under the ee category.

His color is off for a Brown Red or Wheaten, so technically he automatically is considered an EE by most, although may be 100% Ameraucana...but indeed poorly marked and not SOP so nothing to breed forward.
