I've got blues with better lacing than those. I think the tails look the way they do because they were picked and are just weird looking now.

Jean...of course your birds would! Being the prez of the ABC that comes as no surprise!

I got some hatching eggs from a local breeder who doesn't show, just loves to breed rare breeds. From the hatching eggs from a pen of all blue, I got all black and 2 blue cockerels. They are both beautifully laced so far, almost 12 weeks old now.

Loretta, your white one looks exactly like my Sugar! she is sooooo pretty!! Sugar is just a tad over two years old and has gotton a very little bit greyer on head with age.

Okay, who on here uses combs to sex birds....That the last part of the comb - away from the eyes will be detached is a male.....just wondered..... Was told by several breeders that this definitely is an id pattern for all birds....I haven't tried using it yet, but with the price of feed, will probably look at it for next year....I just don't want to give away the ladies and end up 100% roos.................... Mostly around here, I have an area of the farm which is caused "roosterville" where they have an orchard to wander...

Not always a good thing for the low lying fruit....

I think that might depend on the type of comb because my little seabright girl has a (rose comb ) and it is detached at the very end its got like a little spikey thingy at the end. And she is def a girl. The Roosters is way bigger but they basically they end in the same manner. No difference at where they stop, but now I'm really curious and want to go check the rest of them (different breeds, comb types) but it is toooooo stinking cold out there, I might do it when I go out this evening to check for the evening eggs, and see that everyone is in for the night. I've been up all night and must be tired , i don't think I quite understand what you mean by detached?
