At least! Oh yes. We have never culled or re-homed one in our seven, almost 8 years of chicken keeping. 😳
That’s so awesome! I wish we had the space to keep them all 🥺 I live in a neighborhood and while our lot is almost a 1/4 acre, the neighbors would NOT be cool with 10 roosters haha. I have kept 2 of the 12 I have bought as straight run babies…and each one leaves a little hole when they go 😓 we made a Collage of Sadness of each boy we rehomed so we can remember them fondly. Some day! I will have all the space to keep all the chickens 👊🏻😬

Not that it wasn't incredibly obvious from the start, but congrats on the two pretty Lavender Ameraucana pullets. They look well-bred, so hopefully laying blue eggs is unique enough without cursing them with frayed feathers.
Haha, thank you! So far the feathers look much more normal than my Lav Orp who most definitely has the cursed genes! If he mates with other lavenders will he pass that on? I’d rather not use him to breed if it is a dominant gene!

He will definitely pass it on, although generally, birds who are not lavender don’t show the gene.
